Tom brings a blend of rock and blues experience to Pocketchange. He is a native of South St. Louis, with his first playing experience in the high school marching / concert bands. He also played in rock bands in high school and college in the 70's and early 80's. His earlier drumming influences include Danny Seraphine (Chicago) and Don Brewer (Grand Funk). He started playing the blues about 12 years ago, and has been the drummer for local blues acts such as Blue Mondays, Perry Woods and the May Brothers, Buffalo Bob and The Bedroom Blues Band, Blue Streak, and the Melissa Neels Band. His performance experience includes: The Big Muddy, Sparta, Washington, and Quincy Blues Festivals, Blues On The Mississippi Concert Series, Vets Jam, Becky Thatcher (Blues Cruise), Fox News Channel 2 (on air performance), KDHX 88.1 (on air performance), Lake Of The Ozarks, Ameristar Casino St. Charles, Soulard Mardi Gras, warm-up for Chuck Berry, Anthony Gomes, and Hamilton Loomis, and on the Sparta Blues Festival billing with Michael Burks, Ike Turner, and Little Milton.
His favorite blues artists include Albert Collins, SRV, Walter Trout, and Coco Montoya. His favorite local blues bands are: Rob Garland and Alvin Jett. Tom's equipment includes: Ludwig drums and Zildjian cymbals.
